Card Commerce Announce 2012 Results
Card Commerce today announced profit growth in excess of 17% in the financial year to the end of December 2012. The year-end statements show the company profits increased from €201k in the financial year to the end of 2011, to €237k in the financial year to the end of December 2012.
Presenting the results Managing Director Dave Hunter said “We are pleased with our 2012 performance, particularly given the continued pressures in our primary sectors of Retail and Leisure & Entertainment”. Hunter continued “over the past 12 months we have continued to focus on digital and mobile solutions for our partners and customers and this is bearing fruit with exciting new customer wins and great success in the eCoupon and eVoucher space. Our customers are transitioning from plastic to digital and mobile and we expect this trend to accelerate over the coming year as we benefit from the investment in technology we have made and our ability to deliver robust low-cost solutions”.
Business Development Director Eoin Whyte added “We continue to focus on overseas expansion. The UK is now our largest market, representing over 60% of our turnover. We have also introduced a direct sales capability to complement our reseller channels. Highlights in the past year include rolling out a ‘cashless campus’ solution for Manchester Metropolitan University, the 2nd largest University in the UK; and a multi-channel gift and coupon programme for Mitchells & Butler the largest pub & restaurant chain in the UK. And with Greene King and Spirit Pub Group signing with us in 2013 we have now secured a majority market share in the casual dining and pub sector across the UK”. Whyte continued “We are recruiting new resellers across the ePOS and eCom space and believe this will help us win more Tier 1 business going forward”.
